Buy-A-Bone
 Buy-A-Bone Campaign
prosauropod dinosaur exhibit
Sponsors are being invited to help the Fundy Geological Museum complete its newest exhibit. The Plateosaurus replica project final cost of $ 48,000.00 involved purchase the skeleton and installing new exhibit interpretive panels.  Sponsors can help purchase the skeleton a bone at a time.

There are approximately 356 individual bones and teeth in the Plataosaurus skeleton. A range of fees has been assigned to the separate bones, encouraging different levels of support from the Museum’s community.

The Campaign
Parrsboro's Dinosaurs
"Where are the Dinosaurs?" was a question asked by many of the children visiting the Fundy Geological Museum. It expressed the publics desire to see large dinosaur skeletons on display in the Museum’s gallery.
The Fundy Geological Museum launched the "Buy-A-Bone Campaign” in 1998.     A 6 metre long Plateosaurus skeleton, standing 2.5 metres high is now installed in the Museum’s exhibit gallery.  The full size skeleton is thrilling the children (and adult) visitors, providing a greater appreciation of these interesting dinosaurs, and a more satisfying museum experience.

The Plateosaurus Exhibit
Plateosaurus replica.
Mounted and installed, the skeleton and display cost $48,000.  The replica is made up 356 individual bones and teeth, and the museum needs a sponsor for each one.  Would you like to see your name listed as a sponsor?  If so, help us complete the purchase of this exciting new display!  This is our invitation to you to sponsor a bone.

The Fundy Geological Museum is accepting donations for individuals to contribute to the purchase of the skeleton, by donating the money for one or more bones.

The Museum will recognize sponsors by placing their names in a large wall graphic of the skeleton, on the bone(s) bought.

You might like to buy a bone as a special family or class project, or simply because you believe in the importance of learning about the Bay of Fundy fossils.  Whatever the reason, investing in the Buy-A-Bone Campaign at the Fundy Geological Museum is an important investment in the Museum’s education programs.

What Can You Gain By Buying a Bone?
Participants will receive a Canadian tax receipt for financial donations made to this project being carried out Cumberland Geological Society and the Fundy Geological Museum.
